Tips: Teacher salaries tend to be high in California, but this is largely due to the high cost of living in the state.  As in most southwestern states, at least a basic understanding of the Spanish language is crucial to teacher success.

California is a very diverse state, with different regions expressing a more conservative or more liberal bent.  Progressive educators might want to look more toward San Francisco than Orange County, and vice versa for more conservative teachers.
