This free printable worksheet features a pie chart with sections for the eight traditional parts of speech: nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections.

The first time using this worksheet, kids give definitions and examples of each part of speech. The worksheet is then kept as a "cheat sheet." Later, when reading a fictional or nonfictional text, students add new words that they encounter. Give students a new chart each week, month, quarter, or whatever suits. Have them continue to add new terms that they encounter in their reading. When students are tasked with a piece of writing, have them consult their worksheets for newly-acquired vocabulary terms that they can use in their writing. Click here to print.
