Life on the frontier is hard but good. Ma says we're building our place from nothing but trees and dirt. I help Pa split logs and fetch water from the creek. At night, the sky is so big and black, with a million stars watching over our cabin. We have a cow named Buttercup. Sometimes I get scared of the quiet, but then I remember we're all here together building for tomorrow. |
