Life in Afghanistan is very loud and very quiet. I like helping my mom make naan bread in the morning, the warm smell filling our house. My sisters and I walk to school together, trying not to step on the cracks. Sometimes, the sky rumbles, but my dad calls it a distant storm. We play football with a ball of old socks in the alley until the sun turns the mountains pink.
