Two enlisted men of the ill-fated U.S. Navy aircraft carrier Liscome Bay, which was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine in the Gilbert Islands, are buried at sea from the deck of a Coast Guard-manned assault transport. This photograph was taken in November, 1943. Click here to enlarge.
