Yael or Jael (Hebrew Ya'el, יָעֵל) is a biblical character mentioned in the Book of Judges (Judaism and Christianity). Yael was the biblical heroine who killed Sisera (commander of the Canaanite army) in order to deliver Israel from the troops of King Jabin, as prophesied by Deborah. Yael was the wife of Heber the Kenite.
