Assyria was a powerful kingdom from around 2500 until 605 B.C.E. One of its rulers was Sargon II, who reigned from 722 until 705 B.C.E. The picture to the left is of an Assyrian warrior. This picture comes from the tomb of Sargon II, who had his soldiers conquer many areas.
