| This pen-and-ink drawing illustrates Moses viewing the Promised Land of Canaan (Palestine) from atop Mount Nebo. After passing the leadership of the Hebrews to Joshua, it is said that Moses climbed Mount Nebo at God's command. There he died, and was buried in a valley of the land of Moab. The Israelites spent thirty days mourning the death of Moses. Click here to enlarge. |
