The Bessemer process was a revolutionary method for making steel by blasting air through molten iron to remove impurities.

Invented by Henry Bessemer in the 1850s, it dramatically reduced the cost and time needed to produce steel.

This innovation made steel more widely available and affordable, fueling growth in industries such as railroads, construction, and manufacturing during the Industrial Revolution.
