These are ancient mosaics located in the Durres Amphitheater. Constructed in the 2nd century C.E., this structure could seat some 20,000 people. It was first discovered in the late 1900s, and the amphitheater is only half unearthed. This structure dates to the period of the ancient Roman empire. Click here to enlarge this image.
