According to the Old Testament, the 
				  
				  Egyptian pharaoh sent out a decree ordering the deaths of any 
				  
				  Hebrew infants born.  Baby Moses was placed in a basket 
				  
				  amidst the marshes of the Nile River, where he was found by the 
				  
				  pharaoh's daughter.  It was thus that he was raised in the 
				  
				  Egyptian fashion at the pharaoh's court.  The story of 
				  
				  Moses' rescue from the Nile River is similar to a story that was 
				  
				  told in ancient times of King Sargon of Akkad, founder of the 
				  
			    Akkadian dynasty in Mesopotamia during the 23rd century B.C.E.  |
