HANDOUT: Article Review Sheet: This blank worksheet is for students to complete based on articles they have read. There are sections for both a summary and a critique.
HANDOUT: Blank People, Places, and Products Sheet: This is a blank sheet for focusing on leading historical figures and their contributions. This sheet has room for five individuals or groups. The teacher may assign five names, or the students may be instructed to find suitable individuals from a certain era or section of the textbook. Under "People" students should list the names of individuals or groups. Under "Places" they write where the individual was active. Under "Products" one writes what the individual or group produced or accomplished. The depth asked of students is up to the teacher’s discretion. Some teachers may ask students to not only provide the "product" but to explain why this product proved to be so important to history.
HANDOUT: Causes and Effects: This chart can be used with nearly any major event or theme (French Revolution, Renaissance, World War II, etc.). The blank chart features short- and long-term causes feeding into the event, with long- and short-term effects coming from the event.
HANDOUT: Compromise, Resolution, and Synthesis: Worksheet for noting the key points of two arguments and possible compromises between them.
HANDOUT: Debate Notes: Worksheet for taking notes on two positions, with spaces for key points/arguments and corresponding notes/comments.
