| Esau is pictured telling his father, Isaac, that he will procure venison. Unbeknownst to Isaac, Esau (his favorite son) was tricked by his brother, Jacob, into giving away his birthright as Isaac's heir. Isaac's wife, Rebekah, tells Jacob (her favorite son) of Isaac's plan to anoint Esau. While Esau is away, Jacob impersonates his brother, and receives his father's blessing for himself.
